I'm New

Rediscover Church.

I know it’s not easy visiting a new church for the first time. You feel awkward asking yourself, "Do I belong here? Am I really welcome? Will the people be unfriendly, or too friendly? Will I be conspicuous? Will it be easy to leave if I don’t enjoy it? Will they ask me for money? Will my kids enjoy it? How should I dress? Am I welcome if I don’t believe?"

To help bridge that gap, we are launching a live webcast, which you can watch online every Sunday morning. I’d invite you to participate in our online broadcast. However, if you would like to visit us in person, let me give you an idea of what you can expect.

Revival Nation is a charismatic church. We love to worship God expressively. We sing, some dance, some people raise their hands. We embrace the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, but most importantly we encourage everyone to develop their spiritual gifts.

When you arrive at Revival Nation for our 10:30 am service, you can park in front of our building on either side of Christina Street and use the main entrance, or you may park in the Bayside mall parking lot located on George Street and use our back entrance. There is good signage to help you find your way.

At either door, there should be some friendly people to say hello, and answer any questions you have. If you have kids, you can head to the lower level to see where they'll be during the service. Children ages newborn to 2 years old can stay in the Nursery throughout the entire service. Children ages 3-11 years old are dismissed from the main service after worship. We’ve developed a good security system so you’ll know your kids are safe and well cared for. If your kids are shy, they’re welcome to attend the adult service with you, but most kids really enjoy the kids programs. If you have a newborn or toddler who just won’t leave your side, you are welcome to join them in the nursery on the lower level. The service is televised into the nursery so you won’t miss out on what’s happening.

You’ll notice that everyone is dressed comfortably, in anything from "office casual" to jeans and sneakers. If you see a bald guy with glasses, that’s probably me.

When you come in the auditorium, you’ll find a "Welcome Brochure." That's for you. It has some information about the church, and it has a tear off portion that we would like you to fill out and drop in the offering bucket. I like to send a follow up letter to every person that visits. If you're just visiting or have no intention to ever return, that's fine too, you'll only ever receive one letter from me.

The service usually begins with some upbeat music. The worship team is made up of very gifted musicians. We sing most of the current music. If you don't know the songs, that's alright, the words are displayed on a large screen. We like to incorporate multimedia into our service, so you may see video’s at some point in the service. After we sing, we may move right into the offering, or we may take time to pray for the needs of those who have gathered. Most importantly we desire to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes an indescribable hush falls over the crowd of people who have gathered, and we just soak in the presence of God. We're not concerned about quiet times it's refreshing after a chaotic week.

We're more focussed on spending quality time in God's presence, after all most of us only attend church once per week, so we're not in a rush. The entire service is usually about 2 hours long. I usually speak and I do my best to make the messages interesting, enjoyable, and relevant to daily life. The message will always be Biblically based. Hopefully, you’ll laugh at times and maybe feel a tug at your heart too - my goal is to be a vessel through which the Spirit of the Lord speaks to you directly.

We do pass an offering bucket each week. We believe that tithes and offering are an important part of the believers relationship with Jesus Christ. There is no charge for you to come, and you need not feel guilty if you have nothing to put in. Our regular attendees will put their contributions in the offering buckets. Even though we hope you’ll simply be our guest on your first visit, we do hope you’ll drop the tear-off slip in the offering bucket when it goes by. Of course if the Lord leads you to give we will use your donation to continue the work of Building God's Kingdom in this region.

After the service, parents are required to pick up your kids from their classrooms, and then we hope you’ll stay around, meet some people or even join us for lunch at one of the local restaurants.

That’s about it. Before you go, take some time and click on About RNC, then read what others are saying about our church. I hope you’ll stop by this Sunday. And if you do, please come and say hi, and tell me that you found out about RNC on the Internet.

Thanks for your interest!
